Flickr family account?

Tags: Filed under: Written in Englishhugo @ 7:06

I have been toying with the idea of getting a Flickr account. However, what I would really need is a family account.

My wife and I basically share photos. It’s very rare that I have pictures that are really my photos and not her. So it definitely seems logical to have one account.

But then, there’s the social aspect of Flickr, where you really want to have one account for yourself, where you can choose your friends, etc. For example, my wife may have access to photos that I don’t have access to. So here, two accounts make sense.

Ideally, we could have 1 account, which would allow 2 personalities. Each personality would have its own relationships, and they would share their photos. However, I don’t think that it’s the case yet.

Does that mean that we need 3 accounts? 1 pro account, to store our photos, and 2 normal accounts, to manage our individual social lives. And I’m not sure how those are going to interact in practice.

I need to figure this out. It turns out that somebody else is having similar issues.

Executing AppleScript scripts with a keystroke

Tags: , Filed under: Written in Englishhugo @ 21:42

It took me a good while to figure this out. One can run AppleScript scripts under OSX using Spark. And it’s really cool.

The downside is that it’s yet one more scripting language to learn…

Christian rock

Tags: , Filed under: Written in Englishhugo @ 21:25

I discovered Christian rock really exists today! A band whose message with “rock & roll is good for the soul” was playing punk rock in front of Notre Dame, with lyrics like “Je vais à la messe, et je me confesse” (”I go to church and I confess”) and cheezy covers. And plenty of people were listening to punk Christian rock.

Funny for a while, but pretty painful after 40 minutes waiting for friends to finish visiting the cathedral.

So Cartman was right: Christian rock is popular.

My first post

Filed under: Written in Englishhugo @ 11:20

After several failed attempts, this is my latest try at having a blog. I’m not planning to talk here about work stuff, more about random geeking, movies, music, news, etc.

We’ll see if it works or not.
