I have been playing with quite a few extensions for Firefox to improve
its tabbed browsing.

I went two ways:
- [[http://piro.sakura.ne.jp/xul/tabextensions/index.html.en][Tabbrowser Extensions]]: it's a great extensions, has everything you
want; but it's super slow and buggy
- a mix of [[https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/showlist.php?application=firefox&version=1.0&os=Linux&category=Tabbed%20Browsing][tabbed browsing extensions]]: I ended up with quite a few,
and that started to be a pain (see [[http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=47192][MozillaZine thread]] for details)

I finally found a happy medium: [[http://hemiolapei.free.fr/divers/tabmix/tabmix.html.en][Tab Mix]]. A single extension, with
almost everything I need. And it's light. Give it a try!
