Melissa Ferrick was playing two nights in a row at T.T. the Bear's, a small club in Central Square.

Both nights were sold out, and the first night she was playing with Pamela Means. The venue is really small. There were 250 people in there, and it was really hot.

Pamela Means

That was the second time I was seeing Pamela Means in concert. She was playing with Jason Gardner on the drums.

I found Jason's performance much better than the first time I saw them in concert. Maybe it was the atmosphere and the style of the concert. The first time, the concert was very laid back, quiet, and this time it was much louder.

Pamela played a good set, and managed to only break one string! She didn't play very long though. She left the stage after around 40 minutes.

Melissa Ferrick

Again, it was the second time I was seeing Melissa Ferrick.

She arrived on the stage alone with her guitar, wearing a Smith College tee-shirt. She played for around 1 hour alone, telling us about her new hair cut, her trips when she tours, etc. She looked happy to play at T.T. the Bear's where she started playing 8 years ago. She was giggling all the time, singing interludes (Oops I did it again by (ahem) Britney Spears and I will survive by Gloria Gaynor) between songs, etc.

She was then joined by a bassist and two songs later by somebody on the drums. 30 minutes later, she left the stage and came back for two encores and ended a good set 10 minutes later.

Here is the set list (from The Unofficial Melissa Ferrick Home Page):

It was a really good concert, except that it was really too hot. I took a lot of pictures, but I wasn't that close to the stage and it was pretty dark so they are very blurry. I tried to make some of them viewable anyway.
