Timetable and Milestones

Week 1-2: 24 November - 7 December
Discussion with Overseers and Director of Studies. Allocation of and discussion with Project Supervisor, preliminary reading, writing Project Proposal.
5th December: deadline for Submission of Project Proposal

Week 3-7: 8 December - 11 January
5th December: end of Lecture Term
Study the RSVP protocol, the structure of the Ariel interface. Design document for RSVP control agent. Christmas holiday.
Milestone : The structure of the RSVP agent is defined.

Week 8-12: 12 January - 15 February
13th January: beginning of Lecture Term
Begin the implementation of the RSVP agent.
Milestone : The structure is written and the agent parses the RSVP messages.

Week 13-14: 16 February - 27 February
Write progress report.
27 February: Deadline for Submission of Progress Report

Week 15-25: 28 February - 17 May
13th March: end of Lecture Term
End of the implementation of the agent. Adapt it on top of Ariel.Run it on a switch simulator to do reservation resources via Ariel.
Milestone : Nearly all the RSVP functions are written.
21st April: beginning of Lecture Term

Week 26-29: 18 May - 12 June
Examination period. Not a lot of work will be done during this period, but tests can be run.
12th June: end of Lecture Term

Week 30: 13 June - 21 June
Finish the implementation on the switch simulator. Put it on real network if possible. Test against rsvpd if possible.
Milestone : The implementation is finished.

Week 31-36: 22 June - 31 July
Performance measurement. Write the dissertation and fix problems.
31st July: Deadline for Submissions of Dissertation

Week 37: 1 August - 7 August
Viva voce examination preparation.
