Adaptation to a change of reservation

  1. $\EuScript{B}$ sends a Path message to $\EuScript{X}$.

  2. $\EuScript{X}$ sends a Resv message towards $\EuScript{B}$, requesting a certain quality of service.

The reservation is made using the following parameters describing the token bucket tspec: 198 (token bucket rate), 45 (token bucket size), 5440 (peak data rate), 2 (minimum policed unit), 43 (maximum policed unit).

  3. $\EuScript{X}$ sends another Resv message towards $\EuScript{B}$, containing a different descriptor for quality of service.

The information stored in the switch is updated accordingly to the new token bucket tspec: 200, 40, 5000, 1, 40.

An extract of the output of such a sequence can be seen on figure [*].
